Gesar Festival announcement
Monday 26th November, 2007Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche has invited His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rinpoche, Jigme Rinpoche and other members of the Ripa family to visit Dechen Chöling May 16-31 to celebrate teachings on the Warrior Gesar of Ling.
Like Mipham Gyatso the Great, His Eminence is a tertön (treasure finder) in the lineage of the super human Gesar. He and the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche are connected in many ways. For example, Namkha Drimed Rinpoche received the Rinchen Terdzö Wang (Treasury of Hidden Treasure Teachings) from Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche at the Yak Gompa in Kham, Tibet. The Sakyong married Khandro Tseyang, one of the daughters of His Eminence, in 2006, and she will be at Dechen Chöling for her first time in May.
Please mark your calendar for this unique event next year.
Both public and vajrayana sections will be held during the festival.
Participants in the Outer Gesar teachings who are not vajrayana students are strongly encouraged to take part in the introductory teachings starting May 12, with the Shamatha Intensive.
Certain prerequisites apply for the participation in the vajrayana part starting May 21. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche encourages vajrayana practitioners to participate in both the Outer and Inner Gesar teachings.

This sounds like a great progam/festival. I’d like to attend.
When will the programme prices be set, and can we register?

Lodrö: hopefully the prices are set this week, and the registration can start in two weeks. Registering early will mean you will get an considerable discount on the programme, so it might be worth to.. :)
